40 Cartel181 A fine French Regence Cartel clock. Ca 1725. The case with marquettery (brass and tortoiseshell) is original but requires some restoration. The clock is signed: Caille a Paris. Who is likely to be Claude Salomon Caille, recorded as an eminent 18th century horologist in Paris. The two weeks going movement with anchor escapement strikes on a bell. The fine casted bronze dial (cadran à  douze) with enamel 'cartouches' and steel hands. Height: 136 cm. (bracket included)
